Missouri Caucus System 2024 Update

In 2024, the political parties in Missouri will conduct their own presidential preference selection process.  Each political party’s process will be organized and managed by the local party. Below are the details for those processes provided by the parties.

Republican Party:

The Greene County Republican Party will be holding its Caucus on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Oasis Convention Center (2546 N Glenstone Ave, Springfield, Missouri). Registration will begin at 8am. The Caucus will begin at 10am. Participants will need to be a registered voter in Greene County, present a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification, complete and sign a caucus and convention pledge. Participants will be able to pre-register online at the Missouri Republican Party website or the day of the Caucus. For more information, please contact the Greene County Republican Party at 417-823-9130, visit the Missouri Republican Party website at https://missouri.gop/missouri-gop-2024-caucus/, or email sandy@greenecountygop.org.

Democratic Party:

The Missouri Democratic Party will be holding its Presidential Preference Primary election on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 8am to 12pm. Participants will not be required to have already registered as a Democrat, but will need to sign a loyalty oath and certify that they will not be participating in the Republican Caucus, as well as be an actively registered voter in Greene County. Participants will need to bring state-provided identification in order to verify their residence and eligibility to vote.

Participants are strongly encouraged to vote by mail by the Missouri Democratic Party, rather than voting in-person by visiting missouridemocrats.org and request a mail-in ballot. Mail-in ballots will be available upon requesting starting February 1, 2024. For more information, please contact the Greene County Democrats Headquarters at 417-886-8980 or email execdirector@gcmodemocrats.org.

Libertarian Party:

Voters that are interested in participating in the Missouri Libertarian Party selection process can participate in their State Convention on February 24, 2024. More information is available on their website at https://lpmo.org/.
